The Beach

THE BEACH

Shivering we stood.
Hand in hand,
Facing each other,
Solemnly smiling.
Under moon and stars
Kissing the taste of salt the night air left
On each other’s lips.
We named our children,
In promised futures,
The breeze from the sea
Passing through our embracing souls.
Promising, one days
Of eternal togetherness.
The unity of death
Would someday be ours…
Burning together forever….
