YOU AND ME

you and me meet,
& instantly
with few words said,
our souls
through mirrored windows join
speaking silently –
stirring embers of emotions
inside us…

we see each other sometimes –
in haunting remembered instances …
images sometimes, still there….

was it…

is it… a dream?
sometimes still there….

if our hearts touched…
would they burn or smolder together?
if our lips met
would the haze be lifted?
our silence meaningless?
our spirits sharing eloquent secrets…
